On vacation or on retreat -- what's the difference?

"When people say they're going on retreat, isn't it like a holy way to say, 'I'm going on vacation, so don't bother me'?" a listener asks. Saying you're on retreat might get people to stop texting and messaging you while you're gone, anyway. Sister Maxine and her guests, Jennifer Schaaf and Theresa Rickard of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt, New York, talk about differences between retreats and vacations, and some commonalities.
