Peppard: Where Are GOP Women?

Michael Peppard, writing at Commonweal, notes that one group seems conspicuously absent from the GOP's debate about its future: women. He notes there are only 4 GOP women Senators compared to 16 Democratic women and, further, compares the size of the electorates represented by these women. (He might have added that Sen. Murkowski of Alaska ran and won as an Independent having lost the GOP primary.) The GOP has a woman problem, to be sure, which is one reason the USCCB is deluding itself if it thinks the Republicans in Congress are going to go to the mat over the HHS mandate.
