This Advent, let's incarnate peace

Horizons - In the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, we say that peace is a gift, given in Christ. It's a perpetual gift, one that we must nurture in our hearts and relationships, even or especially when it is not the easy path.

Time for Defragmentation

How might we act in hope to mend the tears and prevent future fragmentation in our society? Recently as I pondered this big question, I remembered the experience of defragmenting my early generation Windows PC.

Not in my name

Horizons - I find it so hard to comprehend that we can treat children and families so inhumanely today. We know that it is happening in our name, and yet, collectively, we stand by.

Choosing to resist for the whole

Horizons - Christian resistance follows in the footsteps of Jesus. As we say in my own community's Constitutions: "Christ is our peace, the source of our power. United with him we engage in the struggle against the reality of evil and continue the work of establishing God's reign of justice and peace." Sometimes this takes risk, such as taken by those Catholics who faced arrest to stand against injustice and to resist inhumane policies July 18 in Washington.
