Rita Lourenço Luis
Rita Lourenço Luis is a Good Shepherd Sister from Angola, Africa. Her family was tragically impacted by the civil war, and after she finished high school she did social work, empowering women and girls in Luanda. After serving as provincial leader, she was elected to the Central Leadership team of the congregation.
After obtaining a master's degree in Dublin she returned to Angola as director of mission development, overseeing all the ministries of the province. At the time of this writing, she is stranded in Rome by the pandemic, but continues to perform her work in the congregation’s province of Angola and Mozambique (the two Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa).
