Julia Hurtado

Julia Hurtado, a Mexican American from Los Angeles, California, is a Sister of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary who began ministering in the Holy Land in early 2022. She holds a bachelor's in nursing and a master's in ministry in a multicultural church. 

For many years, she worked as a registered nurse in hospitals and served as a community nurse case manager for families with HIV/AIDS in Long Beach, California. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she worked with the Los Angeles Department of Health's COVID Response Team, specifically with the homeless population. She also served about 10 years as a vocation director in her province in the U.S.
