Lynn McKenzie

Lynn Marie McKenzie, from Mobile, Alabama, is a Benedictine sister of Sacred Heart Monastery in Cullman. She serves as president of the Monastic Congregation of St. Scholastica, which consists of 17 monasteries in the United States and Mexico and moderator of Communio Internationalis Benedictinarum, an organization which serves Benedictine monastic women throughout the world. A civil and canon lawyer, she is a respected consultant for religious communities and also serves as assistant oblate director. Her ministry involves extensive national and international travel, yet she treasures the Benedictine value of stability, which grounds her in community life. Previously, she practiced law privately, served in a diocesan tribunal, and has long assisted Benedictine religious communities with canon law matters. She loves to sing and is a regular cantor in her monastery.
