“Holding onto Hope” Online Zoom Retreat with Sister Melannie Svoboda Oct. 2-3, 2020

“Holding onto Hope” will take place online the weekend of Oct. 2-3, 2020, provided by the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center in Maple Mount, Ky., which is sponsored by the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph.

As Christians, we are called to be people of hope. But how do we do this amid the gloom and doom that often pervades the daily news – and our personal lives? This retreat explores Christian hope and its relation to faith, love, wonder and courage. Using scripture, short videos, music, stories, sharing and humor, Sister Melannie Svoboda will suggest ways we can nourish hope in our everyday lives. Sister Melannie is a Sister of Notre Dame of Chardon, Ohio, who gives retreats nationwide. She is a teacher, spiritual director and popular author of “When the Rain Speaks: Celebrating God’s Presence in Nature,” and other titles. The retreat begins Friday from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. and continues from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday (with breaks). The fee is $60. To register, call 270-229-0206 or email retreatcenter@maplemount.org or register online at https://ursulinesmsj.org/registration-form-for-sponsored-programs/
