Soctty began his transition in the early 1990's and has been an advocate and presenter on transgender issues for many years. He will share his own journey of transiton with emphasis on the impact of Catholic religious leaders and Catholic teachings, both positive and negative.

Deacon Ray is a permanent deacon in the Diocese of St. Petersbury, FL, and is the father of a transgender daugher. He has a graduate degree in theology and is a frequent speaker and writer on matters of faith in the LGBTQ community.
