School Sisters of Notre Dame have been inviting young adults to online evening prayer for six years
(September 8, 2026) – Since 2020, young adults ages 18 and older have been participating in a monthly online evening prayer hosted by the North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND). The evening prayer takes place on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) via Zoom. Remaining dates for evening prayer in 2026 are September 22, October 27, November 24 and December 22. More information and registration for the Zoom links is available at ssnd.org/events/.
The online prayer typically lasts less than an hour. Participants experience evening prayer in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours, with additional time for faith sharing in small groups.
“For the past six years, our online evening prayer has allowed us to connect regularly with sisters and young adults all across the U.S. and Canada,” said Sister Bridget Waldorf of the NAVT. “We enjoy sharing our daily communal prayer with those who are seeking to better recognize and understand God’s presence in their lives.”
Although the NAVT takes a break from online evening prayer each summer, in July 2026 a prayer guide was sent to all past registrants so they could pray individually or in their own community. “For those who attend online each month, we send a follow-up email with a copy of the prayer guide from that evening. That way, they can re-read the scripture passages and continue praying on their own or with others,” said Sister Carol Jean Dust, another member of the NAVT.
The NAVT accompanies young adults as they discern God’s call while informing them about religious life and especially the mission and charism of SSND, an international community of women religious founded in Bavaria in 1833.
