The North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) invites young adults ages 18 and older to a monthly online evening prayer on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) via Zoom. Dates for evening prayer in the first half of 2026 are January 27, February 24, March 24, April 28, May 26 and June 23. More information and registration for the Zoom links is available at ssnd.org/events/.
Participants experience evening prayer in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours, with additional time for faith sharing in small groups. The online prayer time typically lasts about 45 minutes to an hour.
“Since 2020, our online evening prayer allows us to connect regularly with sisters and young adults all across the U.S. and Canada,” said Sister Bridget Waldorf of the NAVT. “We enjoy sharing our daily communal prayer with those who are seeking to better recognize and understand God’s presence in their lives.”
The opportunity to meet and pray together with sisters and other young adults was noted as the most liked benefit by a majority of respondents in a 2024 survey of more than 200 past participants. Monthly participation doubled in 2025.

The NAVT accompanies young adults as they discern God’s call while informing them about religious life and especially the mission and charism of SSND, an international community of women religious founded in Bavaria in 1833. The SSND mission is to proclaim the Good News, directing their entire lives toward that oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent. Continuing the sacred work of their foundress, Blessed Theresa of Jesus Gerhardinger, School Sisters of Notre Dame seek to transform the world through education, giving special emphasis to women, young people and those who are poor.
