Synodality Conference This Saturday

You are invited to a One-Day International Encounter, hosted by Bon Secours Young Adults.

Our goals for this event are simple:

1. to provide you a space to learn more about a very important topic for Catholics today, Synodality, which we see as a critical path forward for the future.

2. to give you an opportunity to get to know some new and interesting people from across England, Ireland, and the United States.

Register for this unique event today!

Do I have to know what Synodality is to attend?

No previous understanding or even exposure to the term “synodality” is necessary. It is something that you might have come across in the news at some point, or not. What we are offering is a beginner’s guide, from one of the leading experts in the world. This is open to anyone and everyone who has an interest in learning about what Pope Francis meant when he said, “Synodality is a style, it is a walk together, and it is what the Lord expects from the Church of the third millennium.”

Do I need to be involved with Bon Secours to attend?

Not at all. Bon Secours Young Adults is offering this program, free, to all who want to join. We think of “young adults” as people between 18-35 years old.

Rundown of What to Expect:

We will begin the program on Saturday at 2pm England and Ireland / 9am Eastern Time with prayer and international small group conversations.

At 4:30pm England and Ireland / 11:30am Eastern Time we will have a keynote address on Synodality by Sr. Nathalie Becquart, xmcj. Sr. Nathalie is the Under-Secretary of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops at the Vatican, and the first woman to hold a vote at the Synod of Bishops. You can learn more about her and her important work.

We will come back after a break at 7:00pm England and Ireland / 2:00pm Eastern for a facilitated session on how we can all incorporate synodality into our local context and what we can do to participate in the upcoming Synodal processes of the Church.

Our time together will be hosted via Zoom – the link will be emailed out after your registration is received. The keynote will be recorded and shared with all who register for this event.
