Sr. Claire Nduwakristu, 28, of the Family of the Disciples of Christ, was killed in a vehicle in Mutambara, Burundi, on June 11, 2001. She was traveling with a headmaster, who also died, as well as a soldier and a driver. The group was shot by members of the rebel-led group Forces for the Defense of Democracy.
