Global Sisters Report is an independent, nonprofit source of news and information about Catholic sisters and critical issues facing the people they serve. Our network of journalists reports about sisters' lives and works, and sisters write commentary from their perspective. A project of the National Catholic Reporter Publishing Company, Global Sisters Report is funded by grants from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the Thomas and Dorothy Leavey Foundation.
One of our goals is to help young people become more aware of social justice issues and ministries that women religious lead. To address that goal, GSR would like to continue to include first-person reports on its website from those working with sisters in its weekly Notes from the Field blog.
Program description
For the program's next round, we are seeking four volunteers who can contribute to GSR over a 16-week period beginning in either November 2021 or March 2022. (We ask bloggers to write once every two weeks for a total of eight blog posts.)
Our ideal candidates are good thinkers, keen observers and confident writers. The minimum commitment for writers is a blog post of 800 to 1,000 words and at least four photos with captions every other week. Bloggers will be paid $200 for each post.
How to apply
Interested volunteers should submit a resume, a sample blog post about their volunteer experience, and at least two photos related to the sample blog (no selfies, please) to Pam Hackenmiller at GSR: [email protected]. Please also note when your year of service ends. The deadline has been extended to Oct. 15.
