Emma Teresita Cupin entered the Missionary Sisters of Mary community in the Philippines after several years of teaching. After her entrance she was assigned to a high school, where she with other members of her community became involved in protests against the government and in social justice actions. Her varied ministries led her to work with the rural poor, farmers, indigenous people, prisoners and victims of sex abuse. She is currently the coordinator for the Northern Mindanao Sub-Region of the Religious Missionaries of the Philippines (RMP).
