Finally, Africa/Middle East correspondent Doreen Ajiambo, who is based in Kenya, was named a finalist for the Media Council of Kenya's 2026 Annual Media Excellence Awards in the category of gender and inclusivity reporting.
This was Ajiambo's second consecutive year of recognition by the council. Ajiambo was recognized for her reporting focusing on African women who are on the frontlines of climate change demanding justice at the United Nations' COP30 climate change conference in November 2025.
