The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace received Sister Cynthia Cheruto Bundi, CSJP as a Novice on Saturday, September 14, 2024, during a Ritual of Reception at St. Mary-on-the-Lake Chapel in Bellevue, Washington.

The Novitiate program, which extends over a period of two years, is an opportunity for the Novice to deepen her experience of God through prayer, reflection, study, community life, and times of ministry. It is also a time to deepen her understanding of the Congregation’s history, spirit and mission as peacemakers.

Celebrated each year on Sept. 8, the day was launched in 1967 to “remind the public of the importance of literacy as a matter of dignity and human rights and to advance the literacy agenda towards a more literate and sustainable society.”

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (Sept 9, 2024) The Salesian St. Artemide Zatti Community in Ashaiman, Ghana, held a youth ministry leadership capacity-building and training workshop thanks in part to donor funding from Salesian Missions, the U.S. development arm of the Salesians of Don Bosco.

The Franciscan Peace Center has re-vamped America’s favorite quiz show as part of Campaign Nonviolence, a project of Pace e Bene.  The free online game follows the format of “Jeopardy!” but with categories that focus on nonviolence, human rights, climate, income inequality, and racism.

The annual Campaign Nonviolence Action Days takes place September 21 (International Day of Peace) through October 2 (International Day of Nonviolence) when people across the globe mobilize for a culture of peace, economic equality, racial justice, and environmental healing.

Fourth Tuesday every month

The North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) invites young adults ages 18 and older to a monthly online evening prayer on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) via Zoom.
